Oooh this reminds me of my favorite movie of 2022 - “Barbarian” Over the years, I’ve stayed at some Airbnbs that seemed like they would’ve been perfect horror-movie settings: a Santa Rosa, Calif., home with a sink full of spiders, a Catskills farmhouse decorated in torture-chamber chic, complete with saws, hammers and scythes. Still, as far as scares go, none holds a candle to “Barbarian,” an actual horror movie set in an Airbnb-style rental. Arriving in Detroit for a job interview, a young woman (Georgina Campell) finds a cheap place to lay her head in a derelict part of town. Not that she gets much rest because—twist!—someone else is already staying there. Even more ominously, that someone is played by Bill Skarsgard (fresh off portraying Pennywise in “It”). Once they settle in and look around, they discover—another twist!—a set of creepy hidden stairs in the basement. You get the idea. “Barbarian” descends into terror with a topsy-turviness that’s undeniably enjoyable but that may prompt closer examination of future Airbnb listings. ##📺 MOViE & TV SHOW♥️
